I just received an American Models Lackawanna E8 A-A locomotive set for $364. They are on sale, as well as other items. Unfortunately, you have to call to order them on sale. I ordered on line, which charged full price, but got an email notice from Ron Batista that he tried to call me on a cell phone number I no longer have. So I called and they put the refund on my card.
Both units are powered, with sound in the lead unit. They run great, and could pull a stump. They can also be run as separate units if desired. Each axle is fully sprung which is great on my Flyer sectional track, unlike my U33C. I'm not a rivet counter, so they look good to me, and compliment my AM Lackawanna Trainmaster.
I really like dealing with AM, they treat you well, and you can talk to someone on the phone if you have a question or a problem.
