I have been to the Amhearst show twice now. And I drive for 3 hours plus stops to get there.
I guess you could see it all in a day, but I never have. I always end up rushing about in the last hour to get things I haven't got to yet.
And I always find something I've never seen before but I must have for the layout.
Last year I got a sweet cable bulldozer (not hydraulic) in 1:48 scale.
Gotta have one, my dad operated them when I was growing up!
And of course, a pair of Ross Custom Switches from Steve himself.
They always have a load of product in the booth.

MTH has a nice operating display but I don't understand why they don't change one loop to Scaletrax !!!

I say it's worth at least one full day, maybe more.
There is nothing on the grounds like that but several shopping centers as you approach the Fair Grounds. I am sure someone will pipe in if there is a diner, etc. I just never paid attention to that aspect.

In several of the buildings there are lunch menu type not that great food. Again, not sure if they have breakfast food.

Here is the show web site. http://www.railroadhobbyshow.com/index.php
Those who live in the area can meet Sticky and I at Partners in Agawam around 8 am for breakfast. Only a mile or two from the grounds.

Also a bunch of us are headed to Red Rose in Springfield for Dinner around 4:30 PM. All are invited, just let me know during the OGR meet so I can get a table.
