well, I knew it was going to be a reach hoping that someone here has one of these.  But I'm wondering if a more generic question might be answerable: it has an ON/OFF switch on the bottom and a 'TRY ME' button on the front.

If I set the switch to OFF and press TRY ME nothing happens.

If I set the switch to ON and do nothing else, nothing happens.

The only way that I can activate it is to set it to ON and press the button.

Seems to me it should run continuously until I turn it off, especially since there are 7 songs and the TRY ME only will play one and then shut off.

So my question, if anyone has a device with a TRY ME button, how do things work relative to the ON/OFF switch?

As always, thanks - walt

here;s a short video

I opened it up last night - nothing to lose I figured.

The + wire from the battery compartment goes the ON/OFF switch and from there on to the PC board.

The '-' from the battery compartment goes directly to the board.

Two wires come from the TRY ME button and both go directly to the PC board but in a different connection point than the On/Off wires.  The made NO connection with the battery compartment wires, at least not external to the board.

Since the board can only get power from the battery compartment when the switch is in the ON position (at least that's the way that I saw it) I don't see how the TRY ME could work without the switch being ON.

Here's a confusing thought: If the wheel could run continuously when the switch is ON, when would it be stopped in order for the TRY ME button to activate it?  Poorly worded I know.

I'll just keep it up front within reach and play one song at at time I guess.

The hazards of buying something used I suppose.
