Great day yesterday. I broke my ankle in 3 places on August 3rd. Yesterday, the doctor said the boot can come off plus no walker or scooter or crutches. Just a simple cane to help with balance. I haven't "played" trains since I broke the ankle. So, my grandson (G5) and his dad (G4) come up last night for supper, then we played trains for over an hour. I have a DCS system with 4 MTH engines. I ran the BNSF diesel and the Hudson. I hand my grandson the remote and tell him to bring the Hudson up to 45 smph. He knows how to select the engine and control speed. Then he blows the whistle to let me know he did it. Then I taught him how to park the diesel on a spur by backing up, so now he knows what the red button is for. Pretty darn great for a 4 year old. It was a fun evening with a much-loved toddler. I have a space on the train table that has no track or scenery for him to sit. The trains go around him as they run plus I gave him a plastic cup full of people and he places them in the station, near the track and wherever he wants. Good to be back running trains again.
