I wanted to let the membership know that OGR is welcoming Choo Choo Bob's as a new forum sponsor.  Bob Medcraft and his crew at Choo Choo Bob's Train Store are unique in this hobby in that Bob produces a special television show as well as having a train store.  The television show is called The Choo Choo Bob Show and is geared for the younger audience to get the message out about our hobby and the real thing.  The productions are also available on DVD.  The train store is a full line store with an emphasis on our young engineers but Bob is also a full line MTH dealer so please take the time to visit their store by clicking on their banner in the bottom row.  PLEASE join me in welcoming them as a forum sponsor!!

"Holy smokestacks" Bob, it's a delight to see you here. being an enthusiast and a huge fan of the show, I have been in your shop many times and applaud your efforts. I know the Heyn's, Abe worked for me for several years at OLT. I also worked with Floater on several projects over the years.

For those who do not know, Bob has a shop located in an area of Saint Paul that borders Minneapolis, a great location. It's dedicated to nurturing the young. The Choo Choo Bob show and retail component are seamless in that mission. The show is well produced, and the store is train heaven to children. I encourage all to visit Bob's store, if not in person, then via his website. I think you will all agree that he has created a refreshing approach in introducing the hobby to the next generation. Truly, the most important mission.

"All Aboard"

While Choo Choo Bob's Show is not aired here in Baltimore, my grandson started out with the freebie 2 episode CD Bob offered in '09. He's been a devoted fan ever since. Has all the cd's now, and watches the episodes on the store web page. Too bad he's 2 day drive away, we'd definitely stop in.

Great idea for bringing in younger trainiacs, story time, train play party room, and shows at movie theater and fairs!

Great to have you aboard!

Holy smokestacks, what a great surprise!

My 2 & 1/2 year-old daughter and I saw Choo Choo Bob's revue perform at the WGH show in Oaks, PA recently. I bought her two DVDs at the show, and she absolutely loves them. In fact, she shows no interest in television at all (probably a good thing, I'll grant) except for the CCB show. Clever-silly, fast-paced and well-produced, our entire family enjoys it. My daughter asks to watch CCB every day. She will sit, absolutely riveted, through an entire DVD's worth of material (5 episodes) and wave to every featured train that passes by Bob's clubhouse. I recently ordered two more DVDs for her.

To anyone (especially with small children) who hasn't checked out the web site and show, please do so. The chemistry among the cast is great. Every episode features fun music, various train facts and an entertaining, wise-cracking rat puppet. The bonus features on each DVD have full-length music videos. My own favorite, "People of Plastic City" is worth the price of admission alone.

Finally, I should add the show has also won some regional Emmy awards. If memory serves correctly, I believe they were for best childrens' show (ages 12 & under), lighting, and writing. They were also nominated in a couple of other categories. Congratulations and thank you, Choo Choo Bob and cast!

Hi Everyone, and thanks for the kind words of welcome.  We are both pleased and honored to be sponsors of the forum.  The forum is a great way for us to reach a wide and knowledgeable group of railroad fans, and we pleased that this opportunity has afforded itself to us.  Thanks Rich and Alan!

The Choo Choo Bob Show is an educational children's show about trains, fun and friends.  We have a cast of eight and work hard at creating a show that is entertaining for both children AND adults.  We have indeed won three Emmy's, and if you get a chance, please take a look at our Youtube page.  You will find full episodes, music videos, railroad field trips and music.

We are on television in Minneapolis / St. Paul on KSTC 45, and am currently looking for a national distributor.  We currently have four DVDs and a book available for purchase, and two more DVDs and two CDs arriving soon.

The store opened in 2005 and has become a landmark in St. Paul.

Here's our TV commercial...

Thanks again everyone.  We look forward to being a constructive member of the forum for years to come.

I had to smile when I read this. Yesterday my wife was off work and had to run an errand near Choo Choo Bob's store, so ran in there to pick up some wooden track pieces our granddaughter needed for her wood train 'layout'. She didn't realize it was 'afternoon story time' and the place was crazy with excited kids, listening to storytime and playing with the several wood train set-ups they have for kids to use. She said she barely got out of there alive!!

CCB also sponsors a fairly big train show a couple of times a year in Eagan MN, the next one is in March.

CCB's does a wonderful show at Milwaukee Train Fest in November the past few years; my 5 grandchildren loved the "live" show (and got 1 free DVD during Train Fest)-- and so I ordered 3 DVD's for Christamas which are getting viewed everytme they get into the van with DVD players, or at home watching teh big screen. The DVD set will be expanding this year--- I am glad to support CCB's with their generous support of the Forum!!!

Regards,

Carl J
