The Lionel Legacy Users Group is not associated with Lionel Trains in any way other than sharing the enjoyment and trading of information related to operating the Lionel Legacy System!

The video is up, (Thanks Chris), and the summary will follow this evening!

The Summary is uploaded with Jon Z's answers to the questions.  A little info on Millhouse River Studio's exciting announcement and Scott Kantner's LocoCommander.

Thanks for another successful meeting.  In the fall I think we'll want to focus on the LCS components and their function as they begin to hit the streets.

Questions (originally asked by Mark Bee. moved here as to not lose track of them)

1.  Will the delivered (Big Boy) models have customized cab number specific crew talk? (Will Vision Line Engines be the only engines with cab specific crew talk)

2.  I have heard both ways that it's new tooling and that it reuses the tooling from the JLC. Just wondering if it will be the same 32" as my VL Challenger or if it will be the correct scale size which I figure to be about 34"  also new vs old tooling will determine if the run/pgm smoke on/off etc switches are under the loco or a removable sand dome.

3. Are all the feature sets needed for the depleting coal load etc already in Legacy 1.52 if not will there be any chance of 1.5x or 1.6 upgrade modules being free to customers buying the big boy who use macs and can not download the updates with their computer?

Chris' question

At one time it was mentioned that Legacy Base/Cab2 upgrades might be handled via the LCS iPad app. Any more information about that?

We have the possibility of video taping the Q&A Speaker portion again.  Is there any interest in this.  While it's not a ton of work for the gentleman that does it, it does involve bringing some equipment and then doing some editing when he gets back home.  I don't want him to have to bring any gear if it's not needed.

We had about 600 hits on last April's video of the event.

Let us know.

Since, my daughter is expected to be delivering twins in the next few weeks leading up to the April Meet, I would appreciate if it could be recorded, also if the recording from Oct is still available someplace as I was there, but UPSTAIRS...

Make sure when you walk in that you do not just say you are here with the Train Groupies but you want to attend the meeting which is DOWNSTAIRS!

It is surprising as it is in the initial announcement but can be overlooked and not sink in for York First-timers with all of the overload they are already getting immersed in.

DOWNSTAIRS! The Meeting is DOWNSTAIRS!!!

My question: I am one of those who has never solved the signal strength problems with my Legacy Cab 2 controller.  I believe I've heard of Lionel planning to make a signal strengthener.  Any word on that being correct?

Peter, can you let us know, is that CAB2 to base or base to engine/other devices.  What have you tried so far, what version of the Legacy software are you running?

Chris,

I am running 1.51.  Tried changing channels and am now on 9.  Have a Hawking antenna mounted up at the ceiling.

I presume the loss is between the CAB2 and base. Not sure how I could tell if the issue is from the base to the loco/devices.  Simply get the "red light of death" on the CAB2.  In addition to this happening when there are visitors present, it happens when I am operating with scenery between me and the base.  That is why I was hoping that a signal strength enhancer might solve the problem.

Don't have any problems with my CAB 1 which is why I always use that when visitors are over.

Thanks for keeping those of us that can't make it to York every year up to date.

1.  Yes, I would be most intested in viewing a video of the breakfast.

2.  Could LCS be interfaced (triggered) by an insulated outside rail.  I have undertable storage tracks that would be most difficult to install LCS sensor track, but I do have insulted outside rail sections already installed.

3.  Since I will not be able to talk to the guys in the Lionel booth, I would appreciate if someone would swing by and then post an update on the WiFi and SER2 modules.  Neither one is on Lionel's production schedule posted on their web site.

Thanks again and I wish I could be there.

I think we can ask that one as it has a direct bearing on Legacy.
