Hi Al: Quite a while back, our late friend, Lou, said on this forum that there would be one
additional Texas Special car. A car that Lionel had not made before. Do you know
anything about this car and if so, is it still in the works? Thanks.

Richard,
This car is not dead. We are currently having discussions about having it made. We will need to get pricing from Lionel before we can announce anything. We will keep you posted. Thank you for your continued interest and support of the LCCA.

KC,
Since Lou passed away, we have been focusing our energy on getting the manufactures to deliver the product our members ordered, and getting the new special product developed and produced in time for our upcomming 44th Annual Convention to be held July 21-26, 2014 at the Marriott East in Indianapolis IN. Sorry for the delays. The smoking box car is still in the works and we plan to design, quote and offer to our members within the next year or so. Additional information will follow. Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Hi Al,
I was wondering about another project Lou Caponi was working on.
Last year, on a Christmas train related topic on the forum, and also in some email correspondence, Lou had mentioned he was working on a Christmas themed traditional size GG1 locomotive and a companion N5C caboose.
I've read in the description for the LCCA 2014 Monon Operating Car:
"This box car is the last LCCA-Sponsored product designed by the late Lou Caponi"
That gives the impression there won't be any more of Lou's LCCA projects produced. But, I was wondering if we might see the Christmas GG1 and N5C caboose some day?

Louie had tons of ideas about new products. I recall him talking about this, but I don't think it went anywhere. I will need to investigate this product interest. Let me see what I can find out.
