I would appreciate any videos of the Showroom cars running behind the Brute that our members could share. It will be mid-April before I can operate my new Showroom cars, so I am anxious to hear how well the Brute pulls these "monsters"!

As many of you know, I replaced the traction tired-drive wheels on my Brute with an extra pair of MTH 381 drive wheels. I hope my modified Brute will pull these heavy cars with no problems. My Brute had no problems with a six-state car consist.

In any event, I did save the traction tired-drive wheels just in case!

The video was posted by the new guy. Doc Savage. Video was made 2 years ago. Claims the engines are owned by a friend and 1 engine will not pull 8 State Cars.

The 8 State Car thing can not be true, My 408E pulls 8 without traction tires.

The engines must be PS-2 because of what is stated about amp and voltage reading.

All that knoweledge because I clicked an You Tube next to the lower left corner.

My MTH traditional 408E with its two BAL motors easily pulls my SIX state cars. The Brute Showroom cars easily weigh at least ten pounds.

6 state cars @ 6.5 pounds each = 39 pounds

4 Showroom cars @ 10 pounds each =  40 pounds

My Brute, minus its traction tires, easily pulls my six state cars, so the four Showroom cars should not be a problem.

Back in the day the 408e was put at the head of the state set becasue the 381 had difficulty with three state cars. I am confident an original 408e could not pull eight state cars, they struggle with four. I cant speak for the reproductions, but if they have traction tires, maybe???

I have posted that my Brute has pulled a mixed consist of original and Lionel Classics (circa 1990) that was 12 cars long. A brute has a lot of tractive effort thanks to its heft. Lube of the wheels and axles on the state cars is a must, especially if you think about the fact that 12 of those cars represents 144 wheels of not the easiest rolling design...
