I have extensive scratchbuilding in HO, and some in O and N (see link below). However, I don't under what your question is. That being said, I much prefer styrene over the ABS material that Plastruct utilizes because solvents (such as MEK) work a lot more effective on styrene.
My question is does anybody on here scratchbuild anything in N, I was just curious to see what anybody has built
I scratchbuilt a small station as part of my NMRA Master Model Railroader certificate. I won't do any more in N scale. The tolerances for error are so slight that any mistake in cutting something is hard to fix. Plus, any sort of window casting or corner trim or other detail looks really oversize in N scale unless it is super... super... fragile. In short, scratchbuilding in N scale wasn't fun for me. But I am glad I tried it.

O well,I guess it's back to what color is your favorite caboose?
N scale is too small for me, but I did model HO at the Holyoke Senior Center, most of it scratch built some of it kit-bashing, but I like O Scale the best.
Holyoke City Hall, Built with Precision Board. This was fun to build, 36" high, I got the plans from the Holyoke building Department.
Merry-Go-Round, Poly Styrene. I took photos of this from the original Merry-Go-Round, now in a Park down town.
Rollercoaster, Built with Poly-Styrene strips. Just a section of the Original Coaster.
Roller-coaster entrance, Poly-Styrene
Holyoke Library, Precision Board with plans from the Building Department
Summit House, Poly-Styrene. Modeled from old post cards and pictures.
N Scale train Ride, HO Scale Trolley and mainline.
