I will remove my post from last night.  I emailed the Lionel Store in Concord, NC.  They still don't know when the sold out, preorder Strasburg 2231050 will be coming.  All were correct about their communication.  I wish that production could be back here instead of waiting to cross the Pacific.

I've heard that they are already here, just need some issues to be fixed.

Spay or neuter your engine?!  Now that's a first.

But seriously after all this time they still have some issues to be fixed?

I am not complaining mind you, however is anybody else wondering if these engines are just getting too complex mechanically and software/feature wise for their own good given the vagaries of current manufacturing and QC?

I had ordered one of these on early-buy pricing at CharlesRo.  I kept thinking about this order, and as runaway inflation exploded, I decided a while back to cancel my order, as I could no longer justify the huge cost for this locomotive. No regrets.

Sort of the same scenario with me except it was more the QC issues that Lionel is having and how long it has taken them to bring this engine to market that caused me to cancel my preorder.

I too wish every one who ordered this engine a happy outcome.

Ditto for me; I canceled my preorder for the same reason. I believe the purpose of a factory warranty is to cover items that fail, and not to cover items that are faulty right out of the box due to poor quality control at the factory. I hope the first production run is a huge success, and if it is, I will consider ordering #90 if/when there is a second production run.
