Any delivery date lionel strasburg 90?
Replies sorted oldest to newest
In the future.
Charles Ro currently has by 9-10-23 and Trainworld 8-31-23. Both in the same ballpark, so maybe we will see it pretty soon.
Or it just gets pushed again, lol.
On the Lionel Store site the delivery/ship date has disappeared for all 3 versions. Maybe they are 'here' or they got pushed back again.
I've resigned myself to simply waiting until there's a real shipping date, no sense in getting my panties in a bunch over the ever changing shipping dates that Lionel puts out.
Patrick's trains says in stock on website. but I doubt it

Try ordering one.

I don't want 1, will probably have loose screws and pinched wires.
Probably, I'll let you know when I get mine.
With all the delays I am not certain that I want mine!
It looks like TrainWorld took off their expected delivery date for the 90's, too.
I'm just glad I didn't have to put down a deposit.
I will remove my post from last night. I emailed the Lionel Store in Concord, NC. They still don't know when the sold out, preorder Strasburg 2231050 will be coming. All were correct about their communication. I wish that production could be back here instead of waiting to cross the Pacific.

I've heard that they are already here, just need some issues to be fixed.
I work with technology. It's nice to have all the bells and whistles with chuff and other sounds. I think sometimes that we rely a little too much on programming and computers. I remember the DOS days where you had to program right, or it didn't work.

Spay or neuter your engine?! Now that's a first.
But seriously after all this time they still have some issues to be fixed?
I am not complaining mind you, however is anybody else wondering if these engines are just getting too complex mechanically and software/feature wise for their own good given the vagaries of current manufacturing and QC?
We are the QC.

I on the other hand think the delays will give us a high probability of a good product right out of the box. I'd rather see it late, than wrong.

I had ordered one of these on early-buy pricing at CharlesRo. I kept thinking about this order, and as runaway inflation exploded, I decided a while back to cancel my order, as I could no longer justify the huge cost for this locomotive. No regrets.

I emailed Lionel this morning. They received Lionel Strasburg 90 2231050 today. They are inspecting them and will ship them out! Our wait is almost over.
I've got my tracking number and been billed, but UPS has to pick it up. The wait for the train of my childhood with my father is almost over. My departed dad took me to Strasburg, and my love of trains remains.
Good luck to all who purchased the 90! Hopefully, it will have no issues.

Sort of the same scenario with me except it was more the QC issues that Lionel is having and how long it has taken them to bring this engine to market that caused me to cancel my preorder.
I too wish every one who ordered this engine a happy outcome.

Ditto for me; I canceled my preorder for the same reason. I believe the purpose of a factory warranty is to cover items that fail, and not to cover items that are faulty right out of the box due to poor quality control at the factory. I hope the first production run is a huge success, and if it is, I will consider ordering #90 if/when there is a second production run.

That's great. Looking forward to seeing pictures.

1st Lionel Legacy, I've bought. Hoping it's nice. Only had MTH engines.
