Atlas O track tie - drilling a hole ??? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

May be a silly question but this is my first time out with Atlas track

Any issue with drilling a hole for track screw the same size diameter that Atlas uses in track ties ??? - I want be able to secure the turntable / roundhouse lead tracks

I've done it successfully. Be aware that the factory holes are reinforced and the one you drill is not so do not over tighten.

Or use a shim that covers two ties and the screw in the middle of the two.
