I am running a somewhat large track on my basement floor which has been just trains so far. I want to add a few operating accessories I have to the layout. My power is a post-war ZW transformer and two 180 powerhouses. The simplest way would be to just connect them to the track, but my understanding is that would basically expose them to the full track power, which is higher that the recommended 12-14 volts. If I wired them instead (more difficult/longer wires) to the B post on the ZW, I could use lower voltage settings.
Am I correct in my assessments? Would it be better for the accessories to connect them to the ZW?
