The title says it all. I have a Lionel Jet Snow Blower car with jet engine sounds and a fan driven smoke unit that smokes to simulate blowing snow. The smoke output while running conventionally at slow speed is anemic. I want to therefore run it with a tmcc loco to get the higher track voltage that will hopefully increase its smoke output. If the smoke output increases then I might as well add tmcc to the car so I can turn the smoke and sounds on and off remotely like I do with my tmcc equipped Lionel hotbox reefer car.

I've called Ken at ERR about this mod. While he's had no experience with the jet snowblower car, he said that possibly the same accessory board ERR sells for Lionel's hotbox reefer car might also work for the jet snowblower car but he can't guarantee it as he's not familiar with how the jet snowblower's on/off switch is wired to its sound card and smoke unit.

So my question is has anyone added that hotbox card to a jet snowblower car?  I'm also thinking about adding gunrunnerjohn's super chuffer too but would first like to know if any forum member has added tmcc to their jet snowblower.

Thanks.

Would love for mine to smoke the way this one does in a March 10, 2010 youtube post from user90gb.

Does anyone recognize this clip and know if user90gb also posts here on the forum? Hopefully, if so, he/she will hear about my post and let us know if their secret to such great smoking involved doing anything other than using JT's Megasteam in their jet snowblower.

Not sure my S-C would have utility in this application.

I'm sure you can control this with one of the ERR boards, but I've never actually taken one of these apart to see how it ticks.  You might do a tune-up on the smoke unit to maximize the smoke.

I know the Hot Box Reefer has a smoke regulator module, so the different track voltage shouldn't make much difference.  From the parts list, this unit also has the smoke regulator.

You might drill out the hole on the left a bit, and lose the sleeve and use new wick.
