Anyone have one of these? I looked up the manual and the instructions are less than clear. I know it has to be lit all the time and you need a slide switch for the animation and I've tried different combos but no luck. It's only 4 spring clips and it shouldn't be rocket science but I'm stumped at the moment.

I have one and had it operating, but that was a while ago. I believe that two of the clips lead to the transformer and the other two lead to the slide switch. I guess you'll have to experiment a bit. It is a nice looking accessory. I wish Lionel had made more animated buildings in their Lionelville line.
I have one, it should say which on the bottom of the building which terminals are for AC power, and which are for the slide switch.
On mine the two clips closest to the channel for the wires are for the slide switch. The other two are for the AC power.

Your right Rick it is marked and I tried that. The only thing is I didn't have a slide switch so I tried a push button. That could be my problem.
I don't think a push button will work in place of a slide switch. I think I've tried the same on Lionel accessories as well, seems silly but its true.
You would have to hold the push button down the whole time it is one. Recommend a slide switch.

I agree with Jim......if using a push button you will need to complete the circuit by "holding it down"all the time to make it work. I installed mine using a SPST microswitch for the animation and lights. Same thing as a Lionel slide switch.

If you don't have a slide switch you can use a simple toggle switch from Walmart or Radio Shack. I use them for my Hobby Shop and smoking Rosie's diner.
