My roster is generally balanced among types. i have three each of Northerns, Consolidations, Mikados, and Cab Forwards. I have several streamlined Hudsons, two streamlined Pacifics, and a few of the streamlined Hiawatha Atlantics. Also one each unstreamlined Atlantic, Pacific, and Hudson, and a really cool brass SP Mogul. I'm sure there are a few I've missed, but that's the general outline.
I have just about all the steam engine types that the PRR still had in 1949. I have two 0-6-0s, a B6 and B28, and two 2-8-2s, a L1 and a L2. Other than those, the only other type I have more than one of is the K4s; two Lionel Legacy engines I double head, a Torpedo version, and a Streamlined version.
I do have two 4-8-4 engines in my Bicentennial collection, the GS4 and the T-1. I also have the PRR T1, but that is not really a 4-8-4 but a 4-4-4-4.

Steam, then diesel, then electric. I could live without the diesels.
One dockside is run cab forward of the 4 coupled below.
Two more are Marx; all my steam streamliners will be only in tin, my tin will be my only steam streamliners, 3:1 tin passenger over freight)
4 Four coupled 0-4-0
1 Old English 2-4-0
1 Columbia 2-4-2
2 Americans 4-4-0 (double headed)
1 Atlantic 4-4-2
1 Jubilee 4-4-4
1 Atlantic 4-4-2
1 Prairie 2-6-2
1 Adriatic 2-6-4
2 Hudsons 4-6-4 (one is the Santa Fe Hudson)
1 Kanawha
1 E-33 rectifier.
1.5 GG-1's (google GG-1/2, gg-.5)
and 4 lowly PW diesel switchers, that "just appeared" by default via trade bonuses.
They are the only "duplicates", other that the extra 4-4-0 General specifically bought to double head with, and the semi-vs full sized Hudsons were both gifts.
