Beth - this may be jumping the gun a bit, however...

Would you consider a custom run of Comet cars in SEPTA livery?

Atlas did them a while back (May 2009 per website).

FYI, I had the same exact thought, but any custom run seems to require 100 unit's in each number. That's a lot of septa to sell. On top of the sheer number, Septa's licensing department can be difficult. I am engaging with them on some switchers now.

BUT if Beth Does it, I am in for a few.

MOQs:

O Rolling Stock - 100

O Locomotives - 76

N/HO Locos and Rolling Stock - 108

While i have no inside info.....I doubt that atlas would make a 2 rail engine without fixed pilots,

As far as I can tell...MTH never made the Genesis in 2 rail, so if u have one in 2 rail. most likely it was a conversion, which would explain a moving pilot.  MTH did makr the F40 in 2 rail...but i dont have one here to look at.  All i can say is that all the other diesels that MTH made in 2 rail had fixed pilots, to the best of my knowledge.    A number of ppl converted MTH 3 rail diesels to 2 rail without changing the 3 rail pilots....

I noticed this too...

But MTH never offered it in 2 rail with fixed pilots.  So I'm curious now... is atlas updating the tooling?

I noticed this as well, and know that the F40s already were offered in a 2R version, albeit with incorrect number of pilot steps for the front, but would also like to know if the 2R pilots will be included in the purchase of the both the F40PH & Genesis locomotives... please, please?  I'm in!

Seasons Greetings!

Atlas is very excited to have announced the 'Premier Catalog'- Atlas is trying to bring all these products to market as quickly as possible. With regards to the 2 Rail Locomotives- yes, we are updating the models by designing fixed pilots!

That is fantastic!

Will the fixed pilots be included in the 3-rail offerings, like current Master Line items, as well?

Thank you!

Impressive catalog offering. Looks like the MTH product line lives on. I like that the former MTH equipment is being offered in 2-rail right out of the box. Hopefully the 3-rail/2-rail operating modes are continuing with the locomotives. I also noticed the DCS components are going to continue to be offered -- excellent.

Thanks for the heads up, Beth.

Really disappointed that there were no Amfleets offered in the current Amtrak phase IVb/VI scheme. Although MTH made them with the last run of P42s, they are nearly impossible to find and never come up for sale on the second-hand market. I'm in for two P42s which will bring my total to 5 scale Amtrak locomotives with only four Amfleets for them to pull...

1.  I think I have MTH premier amfleet cars here in Ph3 and Ph4.   There are about 40 MTH premier passenger car sets here that I have not had time to put up on the web.

2.Im always trying to get more things done in 2 rail by Atlas and MTH.  So far with MTH, I believe we have 2 rail (out of the box) versions coming of the MEC and C&EI drop bottom gondolas, and the Clinchfield and NYO&W hopper cars.  Also unlettered hopper cars.

3.  Ive heard that the Atlas GP-7's are in production.  No guarantees... I hope its true .

A question on the Master O Comet Passenger Cars:

For the coaches, they are listed with two road numbers on a single product number.  For example, Atlas O 3007023A lists numbers #6142, #6145.  Its unclear if this indicates a two pack, or something else.  Can you clarify?

The coaches are available individually.   The different road numbers will have different dash numbers (like -1 or -2), but they are listed together, since they are the same car, just different road numbers.

If you were ordering from our website, I just ask that if u want a specific road number, just to put that info in remarks.

Got it, thanks for the explanation.

Hey Guys and Gals,

Thanks for all the interest in these Premier Catalog Offerings- wanted to answer some of the questions above:

Fixed pilots- the 3 rail models will be offered the same way as MTH offered them

RJI- I'll include your multiple phase requests onto a waitlist and see what we can do in the future

Geeps-After a very lengthy wait we have received an engineering sample of the GP7!- we are working as fast as we can to approve and bring this long awaited product to market in both 2 and 3 Rail.

Amfleets on this current run are not plated.

Again, tune in to Trainworld's Live Stream tonight at 7PM to find out more info about all the items in this catalog

Thanks,

One thing to stress!  If you are looking for DCS components, they are listed IN THIS CATALOG!!!!!!

I have been wanting to get DCS, but TIU's were about impossible to find.  One of Atlas's new offerings is the WI-FI enabled TIU!  It lists a tether to connect to the DCS handheld remote.  Since I am not yet a DCS guy, I don't know how easy it will be to integrate the old handheld into the new wireless TIU.  So some dealer will get my order for one of the new wireless TIU's, and possibly the new AIU, also listed in the catalog.  Other goodies are there as well.

Thanks,

Very nice to see someone from Atlas to step up and reply to questions.....So here's another one....... It was my understanding that Atlas has or had the best service in the business. Yes, I guess buyers are safe for 1 year after purchase for repairs. But, what happens after the 1 year is up? Will Atlas continue to do repairs of their products? Or.....Is a person "on his own" to find someone to do a repair?  With high retail price of 619.95 for a P42, I would like to know that Atlas will be there to help me after the 1 yr warranty ends.

Jini5- to answer your question- I worked closely with a MTH service tech who was referred to us by MTH- this service tech spent days with us at Atlas  to train our in house repair techs- Atlas has  now  become an official MTH  Authorized Service Center. Also noteworthy- with each PO we place with our factory we are placing orders for all the parts for the locomotives and rolling stock that we purchased from MTH. All this said, at this current time  we are only going to be providing repair service for those MTH models that we purchased and are now rebranded as Atlas O Premier . Currently We will not be able to provide service on Non Atlas O Premier products. However if you need another resource to fix original non - Atlas O Premier product I have no problem sharing the name of the individual that can help with technical issues after I have a conversation.

Thank you for the fast reply. WoW! A train company coming on this forum and replying to questions. Nice. If I am reading your response correctly, I am thinking any product under the Atlas premier name can be repaired at your facility. I am also assuming that applies to out of warranty Atlas premier product. Thank you for clearing that up. So  customers now have a out of warranty service center for Atlas premier product. This takes a little bit of the sting out of pricing.

Love the offerings overall! EXTREMELY happy to see that Atlas is continuing to offer TMCC equipped locos in the master line. First manufacturer to offer both of the major o gauge command system equipped locos with Lionel(TMCC) or MTH Protosound/DCS equipped locomotives- I was worried that the Master Line would ditch TMCC, so happy that it hasn't!(Before someone "corrects" me- I know, Legacy is the most up-to-date and predominant Lionel command system, that said, LC+2.0 is pretty popular with it's TMCC). Big ups to Atlas- whose items I have been purchasing more and more.

I've had both DCS and TMCC for a bit now, but got Legacy in May have all 3(tmcc via Legacy y cable, of course) hooked up on my layout. I have grown to love the Legacy system and rarely use DCS anymore- I just like the system better. A major impetus for the purchase was MTH's unknown status  PLUS as a major Amtrak fan, it is  partially due to Lionel  offering Amtrak locos(the F40ph's) and the prospect of more in the future. Since I've moved towards Legacy and acquired more motive power, I've also appreciated Lionel's "road name specific details"(something Atlas themselves have done for awhile)- although I wish Lionel's Legacy locos would reincorporate road name specific dialogue which IIRC was sacrificed for sequence control. MTH's locos felt a bit too cookie cutter for me, but they offered an amazing variety and certainly things Lionel will never offer or take years to match. Those are the tradeoffs of business, however. I haven't entirely given up on DCS, so we'll see.

I was interested to see if Atlas's Premier line would just be MTH items made by Atlas or if they've been modified. while I knew it was a long shot, I was specifically wondering if the length of the MTH Amfleets would be made scale. If this was a year ago, I'd be going nuts for those amfleets, now, I've been sticking to scale since upgrading  to a combo of o60  and o72 curves. So, now, I'm very excited for the Phase IVB Horizons!!

Best takeaways from this catalog:

Continuation of Master Line TMCC equipped locomotives

A lot of Amtrak in various paint schemes

Scale Horizons in 2 paint schemes, 19" Amfleets(more pro than con)

Genesis(a high demand item)

DCS components being offered
