Outstanding news! I'd love to stop by and film the various highlights of your booth. Especially those Multimax Auto Carrier samples. See you soon!

Downsizing is happening in other industries also. My employer took me to builder mart at the md fairground. My manager was talking of the golden days when there were 2-3x as many booths. It is good to see a major player at York, but everything seems to be changing at conventions/shows

This is true all over, with trade shows, conventions, etc. Given how cost conscious companies are increasingly, and given the return on investment for going to shows/trade shows, it just may not pay off when things are now done via virtual meetings/conventions (and I am not saying this is a good or bad thing).  Conventions also in the old days were a kind of perk for people attending, when the shows were held in places like Las Vegas or whatnot, and that like many perks of the past are either gone or disappearing.  I don't necessarily think this is a good thing, but it kind of is what it is.

With shows aimed at the public or groups, like York, or the

I fully understand any established company for not attending.   There is considerable physical and financial  expense involved in having a decent presentation with several tables, then minding the tables, travel, on the road food,  lodging.

$2,000 per show and that does not include payroll and employees expenses.

Takes a lot of net profit right off the top before the first dollar to put in your pocket.

There are lots of expenses that don't immediately yield a profit for a business. Designing a quality product and advertising are some of them. Packaging is another.

Much like farming, you reap what you sow.  Both good and bad.

Think about the youngsters that are there for the first time. They'll see that big red O on the Atlas brand with an operating layout. Tell me that won't make an impact on future customers.

Great point about youngsters.  There are impressions, both good and bad, that various brands made on me when I was a child and teenager that still affect my purchases.  One needs only to look at how many people on this forum formed a love of trains - particularly Lionel - based on catalogs and store displays.

When I owned my own business, part of my justification for something like York would have been that I could go to an enjoyable activity and pay for it with tax-deductible dollars.

Thank you, Atlas. I'm not going to York, but still appreciate you being there.

Look forward to many Atlas O products in the future.

Here, here. I most likely can’t make it this time around but reading this makes me want to order something from Atlas. I appreciate Atlas for the time and expense they are putting into the York Meet.
