Phill i say they will be here soon. Atlas finally getting stuff made and even got my U23B finally waiting since 2012. The factory in china shut down on atlas so thats why taking so long to get product made.
Phil, I sent an email to Atlas on another issue 2 times & my messages BOTH came back, saying the postmaster at Atlas wouldn't let them through.(?) This means nothing to me as I was given an Email to send pic's to last year & I used that again. It was to Rob Psani I believe.
This is the future of O Scale? We can't communicate with who we buy from?
Disgusted.

I talked to Steve at Mr. Muffins trains a month ago and he confirmed with Atlas that they are pretty close to delivering these. He was even able to confirm which liveries still had un-spoken-for units available.
I never thought we'd see the day, but I'm pretty excited now.
I sent to rpisani@atlasrr.com. It's listed in my emails. I don't know what went wrong it always got through before. Thanks for the info, though.

Thank you for the update on Rob's profile address. He gave me that address to send pic's & they went through last year,so that's why I was so surprised it was rejected.
Thanks again.

Well, it is now April 1 and the Atlas shipping schedule says 1Q16 shipping, which (to me) means don't hold your breath if you were hoping to see 8-40cw's this year.
sigh...
I had two of these (ATSF) on order from JD's Trains....I tried sending an e-mail to him and the server said there was no such e-mail address. His website hasn't been updated in quite some time. Does anyone know if he is still in business?
There was a thread here a while back I believe saying JD's Trains had gone out of business because he had a career change. I believe someone had reported that his pre-orders had gone to someone else (Petersen Supply, I think).
I had one on order from JD's Trains; not in business today! see Petresen Supply Co; they have picked up all the orders of JD's Trains; but it's not the same price........so, I cancelled my order and found another one in Germany at a good price (for me inside Europe!)!!!
Hope it helps!

Thanx for the help. I contacted Petersens and they had the record of my order. They just needed my contact info. They expect the CW's around the end of the year.
Last week at the Chicago O scale meet the Atlas rep said 1Q 2017 for the GE 8-40CW [where have we heard that before] just saying!

Yes. There were a number of threads about this several months ago. JD's was just a side business for the owner. He took another job that was not going to allow time for it anymore, and he sold all his inventory and transferred his preorders to Pedersen Supply, a good-size dealer in Portland, OR. They're good, but unfortunately they sell pretty much at MSRP, so no more JD-style discounts.
Why are there not more "JD-style discounts"?
Oh I know, this theme rings out no matter if it's at the grocery store or whatever. I've found a place called,"Just Trains" that does well on MTH also Model Train Stuff does super on MTH & Atlas. Unfortunately, neither carry much 2 rail track products.
Norm's O Scale does well on some things too.
Price is 1 thing that keeps trying to get me out of O scale- what's the future hold with prices like they are? But I keep hanging on.
If anyone's interested, the people that manufacture the Magnelock airlines in HO&N Scales, will be considering making these in O scale sometime this summer. I've contacted Pacific Western Rail Systems that sell these magnetically connecting airlines last year. They need all the input from O scalers they can get to get the project moving,so call Pacific Western & tell them you'd like to see these hoses in O scale, please. The more demand they get,the better our chanced of getting these in O scale.
Also, for those of us who want Double Safety Shelf Couplers & we know who we are, plans are in place for such a product. This will be a Protocraft type coupler, probably made available in kit form to cut costs. A bolster is being worked on for the Atlas tankers to house these couplers 1st. But the drawings are in hand so when the time comes around for the coupler,it'll be ready to be made. I know Protocraft will couple with Kadee,it takes some hand assistance in my experiments but they do mate together as well as with Atlas couplers. For those of us even considering a few of these couplers, make your voices known to push the plans ahead.
Thanks to all.

Try Caboose Stop Hobbies, Cedar Falls Iowa, Merlyn has a large inventory of 2 rail Atlas O even though they don't stock Atlas 2 rail most Atlas dealers will pre-order 2 rail items for you at discounted prices. Bear in mind Atlas has a new policy for dealers called Minimum "Advertised"Pricing.
