How do you remove the trucks, it looks to me like the trucks needed to be removed before fixing the coupler? The coupler is very loose, this is a pretty good engine but will not stay connected to cars because of the loose coupler.
There are a bunch of folks saying- he doesn't know how to remove trucks or fix a coupler? Sure don't but would like to learn.

You have to remove the motor screw and motor and the screw holds pick up roller and the truck can be removed.

For some reason (I worked on it), the engine will not move, there are probably a hundred things that could be wrong, would appreciate a few things to look at. The sounds are OK, talk, engine warm up but no horn or bell...
Folks, this is learning experience, there is no way to go but UP. The wiring was checked by a friend and all seemed ok.

Thanks, the wheels don't move, no slack what so ever, I will remove the motor and trucks again , must be missing something.
