Are you planning to run two TMCC diesels from Atlas O and Weaver together?
Andrew
Nope...not in a lash-up...just running separately
Each type of diesel would work well pulling different trains. That way the difference in details is less apparent.
Andrew
I agree thst Atlas O makes nicely detailed diesels. Weaver still makes Diesels, check their catolog or website for more informstion. Weaver makes many if its O gauge products right here in the USA.
I own both Atlas and Weaver diesels and both run smooth and well. Weaver engines don't smoke and generally the see-through radiator openings are solid but that does make them a bit sturdier. Both pull and sound equally well. If you get a C-C engine (with six wheel trucks) the Weaver powers all axles and the engines pull exceptionally well. I ordered my Alco RS as an RSD4/5 with the six wheel trucks and the little engine can pull an amazing number of 21" passenger cars up grades that defy some of my larger engines.

If I was buying, I would purchase a Weaver product over Atlas.
I too have both. We run trains from 10 to 5 or so on Saturdays continuously and we frequently run mu'd Atlas C420s or F's. I have been very impressed with the durability of the Atlas motors.
I have both, very good models Older models of both were good projects. I did some EOB upgrades of early Atlas Dash 8 models and Weaver E8's. I found that the Atlas undecorated model offerings were great for custom paint work.
Atlas Dash 8 40 BW early models with EOB drive upgrades.
Weaver E8 with Timko motors, EOB drive, and lighting upgrades.
Custom paint Atlas SW's
Mike...I always love the pictures of your steam service/roundhouse area!!
Weaver and Atlas both make fine products each having a place on a layout....
