Howdy guys and gals (if we have one or two), I finally got my computer in service and am looking forward to reading and posting.

My garage layout has been out of service for several months due to cold weather which I can no longer tolerate.

However, I got to make a friend "Windupguy"

that has taken me under his wing and has been of great help for me getting the layout going again.  When you are 73 years old, getting on and off a 48 high layout is quite an ordeal, and it so happened James came to our local Wednesday Breakfast, which includes all the scales.  He has become a great help to me and we are about have trains running.

It sure helps to have a younger helper and James makes me want to hide and watch. Thank you James.

Al, thanks for the kind words - it is great fun to come over and help with the layout!

Al has been making good progress on rearranging his trackwork, and it's been my pleasure to be a gandy dancer on his railroad.  We got the On30 loop closed in earlier this week, so now we can finish arranging the sidings and buildings to fit Al's plans.  His layout is much larger than mine, so it is fun to go over there and run trains around the big track!  I'll post more pictures as we make progress, but for now, here is a photo I took last Wednesday:

Now, this is a work in progress, so please forgive the orange drill bit case and trains sitting off the track - we had to clear the mainline so we could test run a Marx clockwork articulated Mercury passenger train!  Gotta have a little fun along with the work...
