A friend sent me these wonderful B&W photos that he took.  Unless specified they are of the Southern Pacific RR:

1. Train #20 blasts out of Dunsmuir, California in the early morning, with helper #3660.  It is en route to Portland, Oregon, May 1956

2. Western Pacific #483 waits for the scrapper's torch in Stockton, California, April 25, 1953.

3. CW numbers 46 and 45 wait for highball for a railfan trip back to Fort Bragg, CA, September 1970.

4. Train #27 with units 6036, 6032 and 6006 are ready to depart Martinez, CA for Oakland, CA, January 12, 1956.

5. Engines 2467 and 4336 blast up the hill leading to the Martinez-Benecia bridge in June of 1954.
