Attached is a photo of a Union Pacific baggage car converted for use as a MOW tool car. Idea for modelers.
Other similar prototype photos wanted.

Actually, that's probably a common practice. Santa Fe took things even further. Check out the boom car.

Matt, you are AMAZING!!! The stuff you know; the pictures you have, seemingly at your fingertips--amazing.
FWIW, I have four heavyweight PRR baggage cars that are FREE to anyone who wants one and is willing to pay for actual shipping and be patient for when I can get to them. They're all new; Williams from 20+ years ago, I think and, most importantly, I have no idea how I ended up with them. I'm trying to get rid of "stuff" that there is no way I'll use and rather see it be used by someone than become a landfill casualty.

Would be interested in 1 for a project.

Matt,
Thanks for the great photo! GM&O did the same thing for a boom car except they left one end of the car and made a gon of the other end.
Malcolm
Pingman, I would like have one of them if any remain. Thank you, Malcolm

Guys, just send me your contact information to my email addy in my profile, and be patient. Thanks for the offer Ddgoose69, but I couldn't use it.
I knew this first open touring car car I made years ago had a prototype on the Niles Canyon Railroad in California.
I didn't know that this other one I made had an actual prototype. Thanks for the info.

James, my email address is in my profile; just omit the spaces. The baggage car is a gift--pay it forward; just need reimbursement for shipping cost.
I'll try to email you this p.m.
I have some MTH heavy weight MOW PRR cars......so you can even just buy them if you want!!!
