Baldwin PRR Centipede Model

I've seen a 2-rail model, but I can't say for sure if it was original or a conversion.  I think @Tom Tee may be able to specify, I know he has one in 2-rail.

The answer is yes.  I purchased one set when the first models came out from MTH.  They were good runners, but very heavy and very big.

I almost bought one at a West Palm Beach, FL train show back in 2015 but just could not justify a locomotive that took up half the layout without even moving. BTW, the seller was asking $750.00 for the AA set.

I have a factory set in 2 rail that I purchased when they were new. The diesel body is separate from the pilot which is correct for the Baldwin centipedes. I have a color photo taken by my grandfather and me in about 1950 of a pair of centipedes at the Orangeville (Baltimore) engine terminal.

The PRR used them on the Northern Central as commuter locomotives on occasion running between Baltimore and Parkton, MD.

Overland also made them in brass quite a while back. If you like unusual, they are it. I think I have seen pictures of them used a pushers on the curve.
