I have a B&O 7812 (6-38404).This is an AC6000 diesel locomotive. Lately when apply track power the engine sounds come on immediately and the loco won't move . There are times when I apply track power that it works fine but only for a short time-it will suddenly stop moving-engine sounds come on -and that's it=it's failed. I don't know what board controls this. Thanks for any help.

Are you using a Legacy 990 System because if you are, you can do a factory reset. Are you using just conventional mode? Then clean the track, the rollers on the truck. Have you checked the traction tires? Is their anything that may be in the gears? If you have done that private message me and we can see what it might be. Could be a loose wire, pinched wire.
Is the engine new? used?
Regards
I have done a reset numerous times to no avail. There's nothing in the gear train that would cause this. This trouble is board/wiring related. I see that the loco has two boards-one of the two being 120.00. I have another AC6000 so I'll be doing some part swapping and find out what that yields. Thanks. I will post my results
Good luck, that’s a gorgeous loco.
Have you taken the shell off before this?
Could the antenna be shorting some how?
I don't know a lot about these, I notice that after posting, the pros usually correct me!
I have had the shell off before, yes.
