I have read at least one post where a member found the signal from the Base 3 was inferior to the 990/Base 2. I am assuming this while using a Cab2.

Has anyone else found this to be the case? Not sure its due to the Cab2 to Base signal or the Base to track signal.

Looking for input from those using handhelds vs using the Cab3 App. Thats a whole other topic.

Pete, I've been following another Base 2 vs 3 signal strength comparison thread with interest too.  To make sure I understand what you want to know in this topic, are you asking how the signal strength compares between Base 2 and Base 3 (both from handheld Cab Remote to Base and also Base to track), when only using either a Cab1L or a Cab 2 (not the Cab 3 App).  Is this correct?

Yes, thats pretty much the question at this point. Our modular club is considering. Base 3 and signal strength is a factor as we sometimes have layouts with over 1800 feet of mainline. Currently a single Legacy Base 2 can handle this. Hoping a Base 3 is at least as capable.
