Note: yes, I used 2-rail track for my photo diorama, because I had it, and, well, it has only 2 rails...
(Also, Sam Hopkins' (c.sam) article on his photo diorama in a past OGR issue got me off the dime, and I finally
constructed one, pretty much as he did his. It's not quite as detailed/scenicked as is his, but it seems to
work. I may add a few more little items.)
I have ordered the new WBB GM&O ALCo FA1/FB1 set...just because; but, years ago, Williams "forced" me to do the below
project, which almost did me in.
Older Williams FA/FB/FA set:
My paint/decals/weathering. Train America TMCC/RS, both FA's; FB is a dummy. Dynamic brake roof details removed; fixed pilots; nose of #700 changed to reflect
the first FA's (GM&O got the first FA's ever built, and owned all of these "low-headlight" versions, plus later "square headlight" versions).
The headlight mod was actually not too hard - cut out the original, drop the grille, glue it back in, fill in hood
with styrene and Bondo.
Note headlight - and footboards; the GM&O switched quite a bit with their FA1's (from "Gulf, Mobile & Ohio Color Pictorial" by Dick Wallin):
