First off, Merry Christmas to all the OGR Forum followers.

Finally got to run my new MTH 30-1840-1 Big Boy, and got around to turning on the PSA.  I was expecting something similar to another MTH loco I have with Proto 2, something like, "Now Arriving, the Cavalier...", but what I got was a speech by the UP president announcing the Big Boy and also the 844.  Is there a way to get around this to something more train related?  The loco was just sitting in neutral with power up when I set the PSA in motion, perhaps it is like my other one where you hit the PSA sequence while it is in motion.  The manual says nothing.

No, the PSA/PFA is what it is. Sometimes there are minor different sequences in the PFA but not in this one.

Also once you activate, direction is the next button press to cycle to next event in the PFA (both in DCS mode or conventional)

Don't like the PFA? Fine, one advantage of MTH is you can change it.

Example this PS3 Railking freight set might be more what you are looking for

Thanks for the info on the various PSA files, will try to get something more appropriate.  I could perhaps see a plus to including that particular PSA about the 4014 and the 844, as something accessible with a sequence of button pushes, but to have it at the beginning of every PSA sequence is a bit tedious.  I waited over 2 years for this particular loco that I had ordered through my local hobby shop, and am quite pleased with its looks and sounds.  Have it under the tree on 42" curves and actually does not look that bad.  But I am glad I am retrofitting my permanent layout with 72" curves.
