Is there a upgrade kit for the blue comet ps1 premiere train. I want to upgrade the board to proto sound 3 with blue comet passeger sounds?

Yes the MTH PS-3 steam kit, but they are not back in stock yet. I have done that upgrade before. This will be a PS-32 kit retaining bulbs. You can load a PS-3 SF though. G
Ok great. I would like a o up grade it and also I have two other locomotives from mth that need repair. I have a Mohawk and a nyc 20 century limited Dreyfus
Ok it a proto sound. Conventional train. It’s a old primer mth blue comet very detailed
They all need boards so if you have mth ps 3 compatible boards for these trains. I’ll send to you
Yes I have PS-32 boards in stock to repair PS-2 5V and 3V engines. I also do component repair of boards. Email in profile to contact me. G
Go for it, Trirailguy!! The Premier PS1 Blue Comet converted to PS3 makes a fantastic locomotive even better. Here's mine, converted by Marty Fitzhenry in 2018, running on his layout:

I have a Proto 1 Scale BC that was converted to Proto 2 with no issues. I bought it for parts to complete a more accurate post BC version I'm working on in 2 rail, but it looks so nice I may find another one as a donor.
I say go for it as well. My premier blue comet was my first ps2 upgrade I did when the kits first became available (2004 time frame?). Straight forward upgrade and a huge performance improvement.
I can still remember how impressed I was with the smoke unit performance after the upgrade with synchronized chuffing. I still have the engine today and it still runs fantastic after all of these years. Only regret was not upgrading the class lights to a color other than red.
Trirailguy - I find your comments interesting as I'm in the same boat. Do you know the product numbers for the 3 engines that you're contemplating having upgraded?
Thanks.
