I thought I would ask because I looked everywhere on the internet and cannot find an explanation to this engine. BNSF 7695 has the BNSF roadname in Yellow Letters, not like the usual black letters. I know this engine came out in 2005 and it was the only one to have yellow letters. I'm surprised MTH or Lionel never made this unit yet. Is the reason for the yellow letters because of BNSF experimenting with different paints or is there another reason?

I wonder if the letters are reflective??

Yes, I believe they have had at least three different paint schemes using the orange/black or orange/dark green colors with different lettering. I believe the orange/dark green were originally the Great Northern colors. There are also others like the red/silver war bonnet colors, the cream/dark green, the yellow/blue Santa Fe colored units, the green/black BN colors and others. I believe they have now settled on the 3rd generation or 'Swoosh' combination as I think it is called. Although BNSF is my favorite road name, I am by no means an expert on the prototype rail road or I would try to be more specific.
According to my outdated book the 7695 is supposed to be an ES44DC. Although it's not an ES44AC, if this is the color scheme you are talking about MTH has done this Dash-8, I have one here still in it's box somewhere.
Also according to my book from 2011-2012, there is no 805 listed.
I found this website link to what the engine I'm talking about looks like. Yes rtr12, it's yellow letters, but there the slanted letters. Here's the link http://www.trainpix.com/bnsf/GEORIG/ES44DC/7695.HTM
I have not seen that one before. I just went through my entire book, they don't have one like that pictured either. Thought they had pictures of everything in there too? They list the 7695 and it was built in 2005, but no picture. I think that is the current Heritage 3 'swoosh' I think it's called, but everything in my book has the BNSF in black letters.
That would be a nice unique one for someone to make someday.
Thanks for finding and posting the picture.
and now it is in Lionel's 2015 catalog page 16.
The official BNSF announcement at the time was that the colors were GN orange and NP dark green.

Been eying that one since the catalog came out! If only they would have had it last year before the prices went up, just my luck...

Thanks, I didn't know that, good to know.
I see those around here too, they have a lot of different paint schemes. Need to start taking a camera with me more often so I can remember them. When the weather is better there's a trail I walk on near the BNSF tracks and I see a lot of different stuff there. Many engines from other railroads mixed in now too. Also get to see the Boeing airplanes and wind turbines go by every once in a while.
I believe it is referred to as "The Golden Swoosh" in railfan circles. Sometimes Yellow Swoosh, a one of a kind scheme. Dan
Well that link didn't work, try this, and enter BNSF 7695
