Boston & Maine Paul Revere GP9 Set 6-81021 (Conv. GP9 #2346) What kind of motor?

Does anybody know how the loco in this set is built? Lionel site says "powerful maintenance-free motor," which implies a can motor, but is there only one? Is it a tiny horizontal motor built into the trucks (like some of the RTR stuff) or is it a larger vertical type?
