I just saw this after a very long day and this really caught me off guard. My sincerest condolences to all of his family as he was a wonderful person. May his family be watched over at this sad time knowing that he was loved by many.
Sincere condolences to all of Bill's family and friends.
Hello everyone, this is Tim, Bill's son. As you know by now my father passed early Tuesday morning. His death was swift and took us all by surprise. He was sent to a hospice facility in Sandusky Ohio which he was not happy with until I google mapped it and he found out there was a train yard in close proximity and he could see the trains go by. He was scheduled to be brought home Tuesday afternoon but the last whistle came too early. Reading these messages, I want to thank you all for your kind words. He was truly an amazing father, grandfather, husband, and of course train guy. I realize some of you may have repairs at his house. Please email me at mttp6@hotmail.com and I will get them back to you after the first week in October. If you would like to send condolences to my mom please do so here

I only dealt with Bill a couple times but both times he was a genuine pleasure to deal with, very friendly and very knowledgeable. We've lost another good one.

Rest in Peace Bill. I'll miss you. God Bless.
Thank you for sharing. It was a beautiful ceremony. May he rest in peace and may God bless his family always.
Tim, thank you for taking the time to offer us a piece of your heart through your words of update about your Dad; we're all most thankful. Your father was a very wonderful person to all of his 'extended' family here on the OGR Forum and to say that he will be tremendously missed is a gross understatement of fact. Your father was one of the most admired and respected members of this forum. He has left a legacy is his wake that you can certainly be proud of. Our Heavenly Father has him in His arms now and he is without any pain or worry. My most sincere condolences to you, your family and Bill's friends...
May God bless you all and comfort each and every one who's heart Bill has touched.
Respectfully,
Dave
Thank for sharing that. My sincere condolence as well.
Bill was the very first person I ever sent a engine to for repair. He was a very friendly person.

A very fine man. I am so sorry to hear this.
His son is a great man also.
He contacted me shortly after his dad's death about returning a locomotive of mine (Bill was working on it when he passed). His effort was greatly appreciated to say the very least.
Tim,
Your father was a kind, generous and honorable man - people like him are one of the reasons I feel privileged to now live in this great country.
Rest in peace Bill, you will definitely be missed. I offer prayer and condolences to family and friends.

Hand salute and RIP, Bill.
A Military funeral is a moving experience.
Great loss to the train community.

When I put the trains up after Christmas and bid the forum farewell til fall I'm always fearful of a post like this.
Living in Chi and my company based in Cle I often drove between the two. I had the pleasure of meeting Bill numerous times to drop things off at his house and be welcomed like a old friend.
I always planned on a half an hour or so but Bill was always working on something he wanted to show me, fired up his under construction layout or just basically made sure the visit wasn't a half hour!
His patience was second to none, his ability was amazing and his friendship is something I will never forget.
May God Bless You Bill, I will miss you my friend.
