I purchased this tower earlier in the year. Everything I see refers to 12 VDC as it's running power. Since transformers output in AC, I was wondering what power sources "for those that have them) are you using? Many thanks.

I ended up buying a 12 VDC power supply until I get a board to convert a.c. to dc. since I posted I am more familiar with it because it is similar to powering Menards buildings with transformer voltage.
There are TONS of little boards on eBay that will do AC/DC conversion. For instance, eBay: 263780004555 auction is for an LM2596 AC/DC to DC Buck Step Down Converter 3.3V 5V 9V 12V 24V Rectifier Filter, will handle realistically around 1 amp from track power to 12VDC, and it only costs $2.76 shipped free. Take the 2.5A rating with a grain of salt, on my bench I can run these at 1A and the bridge rectifier is up to around 75C, about as hard as I'd recommend pushing them.

Thank you Gunner John. Always great input from you. If you are going to York, I look forward to meeting you and others o this forum. Without this forum, I would be lost. Thanks to all.
I'll be at York, sometimes in the Orange hall at Henning's, sometimes shopping for bargains.
