broken engine to drawbar wire

I have the PWC tmcc 736 engine. I found out it would not fully program due to a broken wire to the drawbar  I don't know how to fix this Any suggestions?

How about the exact Lionel product number?  Typically with a Lionel model, the tender only has the sound components, I don't see this affecting the programming of the locomotive.  If this is the 6-11130 model, it has an IR drawbar, so the tender can't affect the programming.  It does affect the sound, but a broken wire there is typically pretty easy to fix.
