Joe- and my other brother Darrel......(G'day mate, my name is Bruce.......)
Peter- I'm just a humble modeler........
Thanks guys.
Bob
Learned a hard lesson yesterday.......
At the expense of a decal, and my butt from kicking myself , I thought I could apply the clear coat over them with a brush. I didn't want to mask off the whole engine so I figured maybe I could just hit them with some of the matte clear which I sprayed into a small cup.
NOT!
The paint is too aggressive and the brush strokes took the print right off of the clear backing.
So after I reapply the damaged decal, I'll go back to Plan A and I will mask the engine before spraying the decals to seal them in. At least I was smart enough to try it on the small decal on the rear deck, not the sides.......
Bob
Bob, at least it all worked out fine!

I hope so. I'll weather this engine eventually so I will be able to blend in any damage.
Thanks
Live and learn, Bob!
As usual, you have found a way to "save the day", and make it right.
I am still in awe of your modelling skills.

Sorry to hear about your mishap Bob, but on a good note, it’s valuable future knowledge for some of us. With your talent, I’m sure it will come out primo.

It was an enjoyable build to watch with excellent results, and I learned a couple things on painting and decaling, thanks.

@pennsyfan @Buco, @gunrunnerjohn, @coach joe, @Genemed, @trumpettrain
Thanks to you all. It was a fun project.
I have to once again thank @Trainguy Ken who designed and printed the body for me.
Stay tuned.....I may just be building another one eventually......
Excellent job, Bob!
Like Mitch Marmel is the master of the Scrounge Kitbash, Ken is the master of the Unique 3D Locomotive.

He sure is Joe. Endless possibilities with 3D printing.

Exactly Joe, Ken rescued me with my Steeple Cab. I am so glad that I decided it was beyond me to build it. When Ken took it on, he found some parts were warped; and printed new ones. I would have been in a real mess trying to put it together. I’ll be posting another project in a week or so.
