Posting tonight to seek advice on two ongoing peculiarities in my layout.
1) Buzzing / Humming Speakers
My layout is in two parts. The outer part is two loops of Gargraves controlled by Legacy and powered by a modern Lionel ZW with the throttle set at 18 volts and the two bricks. The inner part is one loop of Lionel tubular track controlled by TMCC and powered by the older Lionel PowerHouse brick. When one locomotve is on the inner loop, there is no sound from the speakers other than its own Railsounds. However, when the same engine is on the outer loops, a pretty distinct buzzing / humming comes through the speakers along with the Railsounds. This is the same across the board for all my locomotives with modern speakers. My only guess was they're getting too much power? But actually, when I notch it up to 21 volts, the buzzing subsides somewhat. So I have no clue what this could be now. Any ideas?
2) Warm Legacy Remote
I use regular old AA's in my Legacy remote, so I turn the charge station off on the base. However, if I park the remote in its holder, it still gets rather warm when I take it back off. It's not burning hot, but definitely very warm. Is this normal? As it is I have to leave the remote off the base. Both remain cool when separated like that.
