When I turn off the CAB-2 by holding down the red CTC button the screen goes blank like it should, but the back light stays on indefinitely. Sent back to Lionel and got a new CAB-2 with small dark spot at lower center screen area. Is there a fix for this or is the screen bad?

Have you tried changing the contrast and brightness percent to see if it looks better with changes?

If they sent you one with a bad display, send it back.

In my experience they call that a boomerang repair and the turnaround is very quick.
