For PS3 engines the cab light is only supposed to be on when the engine is in motion.

Now I'm confused. Is the cab light the interior light? If so, mine are only on when the engine is stopped. As soon as it starts moving forward or reverse, it goes off.
Mike, you're right, I managed to both read rolling's question backwards and answer it backwards!!
Rolling, if you're running with DCS, did you try pressing the interior light (LIN) softkey?
thanks Professor, that worked. And yes the cab interior light is only on when engine is idle, when the engine starts moving the light goes out, and when the engine stops the light comes back on.
Is there a list of all those's softkeys and the functions they do somewhere?
thanks, this is a great forum. J
In the DCS Operator’s Manual Fifth Edition, on pages 120-121, there is a reasonable list of the codes. That is the manual that comes with the TIU. The guide can also be downloaded from the MTH site.
I noticed that not all the soft key commands are on that list. for example: mds, mms, sxs etc.
and what is engine sound 1, 2, 3, to 10. What does that mean? Idle sounds 1-8, what does that mean...etc etc...
I didn’t say a “complete” list, just a “reasonable” list. MTH has added additional soft keys to later PS3 engines but hasn’t updated that list.
Anyway, to see what soft keys your particular engine has,
Use S5 (picture 1) to scroll until you see “more” (picture 2) and then push S4 to select it. You will then see the list of all soft keys your engine has (picture 3). In this case, number 8 corresponds to SXS which is XING SIGNAL. Scroll up or down thru the entire list.

Also, it's possible to change the order the softkeys appear so they will be in the three letter abbreviations as well.
