The first run of Cameron Apartments in the 5- and 7-story versions have been completed. These two versions (5 each) were run first based upon initial orders. You may purchase them now for immediate shipment or save on the shipping cost by planning to pick your order at York in April. Note that there are two glazing options, one with clear and one with translucent windows. In the first run there are two with clear and three with translucent windows. You have your pick as long as the one(s) that you choose are available.

Visit the website to view all of the selections in the “Shop” pull-down menu. A few more laser cut letter sets have been added and the Laser Cut Letter Sets page has been decluttered.

We’ll turn our attention to the other versions (6- and 8-story) next week.

The Cameron Apartments shadowboxes are flanked on both sides by the Corrigan Station prototypes. Painting for them starts tomorrow.

Please call or email me at the shop if you have any questions.

We’re on to painting the Corrigan Station elevations. Here’s what the brick looks like with one window stuck behind just to see if we are headed in the right direction. The Walnut and 19th Street elevations are being painted on the same palettes, along with the bridge pieces. There will be five of these “sets” produced in the first run along with two more Walnut Street elevations. Two sets will have clear glazing and the other three sets will have translucent glazing. The extra Walnut Street elevations will be glazed per the direction of the buyer.

From a modelmakling standpoint we are doing something different this time around as the cast stone is much more compleicated than the brick on this building. The brick is getting painted first and will be masked out tomorrow morning. Then there about 75 frame and detail parts that will be added to each Walnut + 19th Street set. Once the detail parts are attached, the cast stone color gets airbrushed on. Lastly the brick is unmasked and we’ll see what kind of monster we have created.

The picture was taken outdoors with fresh snow and sunlight brightening everything. The actual color is a bit darker. There is a base coat and four textured oversprays on the brick.

Here’s Corrigan Station, the Wanut Street 5-story elevation shadowbox, flanked by a 5- and 7-story version of Cameron Apartments. We’ll have the 19th Street elevation shadowbox up tomorrow night. Interesting that Corrigan Station takes a bit longer to assemble than Cameron Apartments. Any takers for the 10-story versions? And yes, for an extra charge the window loevers can be shown in an open position.
