I have had this car for several years and hung on to it because it is unique from every other O-gauge car I have. It is a black O-gauge tank car with a Wabash road name, small couplers (are those Kadee couplers for scale cars) that do not fit any other O-gauge car I have, is a little over nine inches long and is all metal so it weighs almost two pounds. It has detailed features that other tank cars I have do not. It has no indication of who manufactured it and I'm not sure of the year. I have no idea how old it is, but it is in very good condition. See the pics... Is this a scale hand made car? I'm not sure what to do with it. Thanks for any help!

Looks like Scalecraft with Auel trucks.  Think late 30's into maybe 50's.  Could be 17/64th's - Auel trucks tend to be that scale.

Used to be fairly reasonable in price although there are aficionados of Scalecraft (long gone) - Auel is still hanging around in another incarnation.  O scale meets you can still get these cars for as little as $25 and you can see them on eBay periodically.  Exceptionally well finished out ones can sell for whatever the market will accept.

Thanks mwb, I may just hang on to it and look at it for awhile.

Enjoy it!  That's one of the better looking ones that I've seen over the years - many are more than a bit rough.

Might be able to find another set of those Auel trucks since the spring planks are broken.
