After we finished building the dogleg addition to the Casey Jones Hi Railers layout last year we ended up with an orphaned 4ft module unused in the new configuration.

We couldn't  let the old 4ft module just sit there and gather dust. We decided to build an additions 4ft module and expand the size of the CJHR layout. Work started on the new  module this past Saturday. This module will have a 3 track girder bridge (Atlas) elevated above a new water feature. Here are a few picture form Saturday's work sessions.

The new module will be bolted in place and only have two legs in the center, if necessary.

Nep and Len assemble an Atlas two track girder bridge and an Atlas single track girder bridge into a three track girder bridge. They are working in the S gauge section of our model railroad club.

Well, this is as far as we got on Saturday. We still have  one more base for the center track remaining to be built. In the  background you can see the return loop for the G scale club layout that runs  behind the CJHR layout.

Hope to finish the new module next weekend and install track. If we are lucky we may even insert old 4ft module and the new 4ft module into the layout.

Thanks for looking at the pictures.

Have a great week,

Richard

Yes Frank,

I do believe that working on moduler train layouts is an acceptable form of work release for those leaving the Shelby County Jail.

If I recall you are in the slammer for "neglect of household duties, specifically HONEY DO's."

I hope they don't make you ware one of those striped outfits when  you come to work on the modules .

See you soon,

Richard
