Here are some photos from yesterdays "Diesel Days" at the IRM.

That is one good looking train!
I have to agree. It's a beauty. I noticed in another post, you have some shots of the original zephyr. Do you have any more?

Curious what you mean by "original zephyr". The Pioneer Zephyr, i.e the "original Zephyr", is on display underground at the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry.

N&W Class J had posted some pics in the museum post of what I thought was the pioneer zephyr at the IRM.

Can't imagine what you saw, or what you thought you saw, but the Pioneer Zephyr is not, and has never been, at the Illinois Railway Museum.

Ah,,,,,,,got it. Chris didn't label those 3 photos as to their location, i.e. inside the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. And yes, that indeed is the original "Pioneer Zephyr", which is VERY hard to photograph since it is underground.
Here's when the PZ was outside (1984) at the Museum of Science and Industry:
Couldn't really get a good angle outside, either.

Sorry guys. I went back and put in the location of where the photos were taken in the Museum thread. Yes as Hotwater said the original Zephyr is at the MSI in Chicago and is underground, it's dark and there is not a bunch of room in which to take photos but I will post what I have.
Thanks for the pictures. I can’t decide which looks better, the 9911 or the 9900.
Your welcome. I have to say they both are amazing in their own right, I personally prefer the E5 but again both are amazing to see.
Youtube has some clips up:

Is the Baldwin centercab in operable shape?

The answer is: Yes.
Rusty
Rusty's photos appear to have been taken at The Highlands, in Hinsdale, IL. In the distance is the Oak Street bridge, which scuttlebutt reveals was formerly a turntable in Riverside, IL, from the days of Ten Wheelers in commuter service. Alas, this delightful relic from the past is about to be removed and replaced with a colorless, "modern" bridge. Well, nothing is forever.
But at least the beautiful E5, with black nose stripes, labors on at IRM, with the Nebraska Zephyr articulated set.
