Does anyone out there have the instructions and drawings for a late (Epoxy resin drivers) Central Loco Works Southern Railway PS-4 kit that they can copy and send to me?  I was handed a box of PS-4 parts at the Chicago meet with a request to build the mechanism and add details to it to make it into a Monon Pacific.  It looks to me like some of the nickel silver small valve gear components and other items are missing.  I will happily pay postage and copy costs.  The owner of the kit got the parts on ebay with no instructions.  I do not need the boiler or tender drawing or instructions, just the mechanism.

Thanks,

No, but typically these go together just like any other Pacific, with very nice Walschaerts parts cast in nickel silver.

The problem you will have is that every single kit ever produced by CLW had missing and incorrect parts, and that includes very small kits such as a pair of trucks.  Bob always made good on the parts for free, so it was not a big deal during production, but alas it is a very big deal now.

For the Walschaerts parts, you will have to make what is missing. The tough part will be the parts for the cylinder block - make sure you have the crossheads and crosshead guides, and valve spindles.  The rest can be faked - Stevenson has adequate side rods and probably mains, PSC has excellent Walschaert links and eccentrics, and .032 nickel silver sheet can be used for the radius, eccentric, combination, and crosshead rods.

A wise purchaser would do well to stick with completed CLW kits - you can disassemble and start over, secure in the knowledge that all parts are indeed there.

The master at building CLW Southern PS4 Pacific's was Bernie Gallagher.  My recollection is that he built 7-10 of them, some for himself, some custom built for others.  He also did some work for CLW owner Bob Smith.  Bernie is also noted for being the Chief Mechanical officer during restoration  of DC Chapter NRHS's Dover Harbor.

If anyone would have a set of instructions for a CLW PS4 - Bernie would.  It's been several years since I last spoke with him and he'd be getting up in age. He and his wife used to be regulars at the Chicago shows - I hope he is still with us as he was a fine modeler and a real gentleman.  I'll email you the last phone number I have for him.
