changing shells

I have a railking BNSF proto 2 30-2918-1 which measures 17x3x3 7/8 PS2 with a smoke unit but the board does not work. I can buy an MTH 20-2171-1 PS1 Amtrak engine which measures 18 1/2x2 5/8 x 3 7/8 which has a smoke unit. Does anyone know if the BNSF shell will fit on the MTH unit? I simply want to swith them.

No. Different models, not just whether shell goes on but where smoke unit lines up and shape of shell funnel, etc... G
