Their Christmas season open houses are amazing with Santa and Mrs. Claus spending as much time with each kid as they’d like. Of course the trains and operating accessories are a huge hit too. Can’t forget the hands on Thomas table where the kids can get their hands on remotes to enjoy the fun.

This picture and other other from that section of the layout brings tears to my eyes.  It reminds me of the south end of Lake Michigan when I was a kid!

Driving by there back then, use to bring tears to my eyes, (due to the Level of Air Pollution).  On the other hand it represented the Industrial Might of American at that Time.  Not to mention the 700 ft long ore boats there unloading Taconite to feed the Steel Mills that were having trouble keeping up with the demand.  And the rows of freight cars ready to move it across the country.
