Not sure if this is the appropriate category to post this in, but I thought I'd share today's lunch experience with you all, hopefully I don't get reprimanded too badly for doing something silly like posting something in the wrong forum...

I work in Annapolis Maryland and one of my employees did a fantastic job on a project, so I decided to take him out to lunch to thank him for his efforts.  We decided to go to "Chick and Ruth's Delly" which is a restaurant right smack in downtown Annapolis.  It's somewhat of a local place that makes great burgers, crab cakes, etc. and I believe it's been on one or two of those "foodie" TV shows at one point or another.

Prior to going I visited the website and thought "man, what a cool looking building, I wonder if anyone has ever modeled it in their layout?"  Here's a picture from Google:

Poking around on the site I found that the current owner is actually an HO train guy, link to pictures of him building his layout are here:  http://www.chickandruths.com/train_layout.php

Anyway, my worker and I had a great lunch, then while checking out I ran into the owner and asked him about his layout.  We ended up talking for about 5-10 minutes (right in the middle of lunch hour) and sure enough he ended up giving me an open invite for me to go over to his home to see his layout.  He told me just to email him and we could set up a time to meet at his home, awesome!

What a great experience, train guys are fantastic, even if they are HO gauge!

Happy 4th of July and best regards to all...Rich Murnane

The train connection is a real bonus.

Does Adam Richman have a layout?

Norm

Hi Norm,  Not sure who Adam is, I was talking with Ted Levitt.  Best...Rich

ok, I Googled him (Adam Richman) and he's one of the TV celebrities that visited the restaurant, guess I should watch more TV!

Adam conducted his food challenge at the delly.  They sell these massive shakes that a group of 10 can barely finish.  After a 4 year run of Man vs Food,  Adam stopped the show due to health reasons. He now has several new shows in the works.  You have probably seen him most recently doing Walmart commercials,  70lbs lighter!  Seems to be a very cool guy.
