So I stumbled across a nice deal this afternoon - a lightly used PS2 Railking S2 Turbine at a great price.   The shop bought it from a collection, and they tested all functionality - everything checks out mechanically.  However....

...  The engine is a little dirty in terms of the paint work (wheels and rollers are fine) on the top of the locomotive.   I messed with it a little because at first it appeared to be faded, but the tender had no such fading so I pressed on and found that there's almost a residue/film that does seem to come up if coerced.   I didn't want to dig at it too much as I didn't own it.

- Is this a combination of smoke fluid, dust, and neglect?  Or something else?

- What is a good solution to clean it up nicely?   I don't want to damage the paint, but would my usual suspects (Goo Gone, Simple Green, WD-40) be applicable here?   If not, what is a good strategy?

I haven't pulled the trigger yet;  want the board's opinion first.  It would be nice addition to the fleet at less than half the price of new, even if I had to put a new battery into it.  Then again, I don't want to buy a dirty pig and not be able to get her shiny like my other engines.

Thanks guys!!!

-Eric
