Did Lionel make any 18045 (1996) Commodore Vanderbilt's that were not TMCC operable?
From what I've seen of the manuals, they all were TMCC capable. Don't want to bid on one that the seller doesn't know for sure (estate sale).
Thanks for any info.

If its an 18045 it has TMCC with a wired tether.

All were TMCC to my knowledge. Never heard of another version.
Good loco; typically that platform runs better the more you use it. Tough. Gearing is pretty good, so it will run at lower prototypical speeds (OK, it won't Legacy-creep - but it's a Hudson, not a hump-switcher).
No cab chatter on this one. If you leave the small pilot truck on it will go around O gauge 42'' curves. Possibly even 031.

Go for it! It's a great engine.
...and with a little work, it'll creep...

That engine has been modified most likely with can motor and ERR cruise commander.

My CV Pittman project is currently on hold due to other summer projects but my 18045 shell is now riding on a 18063 charcol gray CV drive train with wireless tether, electro coupler, and RS3. Will likely become available when the project is complete.

Not to mention fan driven smoke, the Super-Chuffer, Chuff-Generator, etc.

Darn tootin!
One of the great benefits of this engine; not only is it one of there best looking, but the room under that die cast shell is cavernous.
I just did an upgrade on the MTH Reading Crusader, there was lots of room under the shell to work.
Thanks for all the responses.
I won the bid...so I'll soon see what I got (or didn't get!
