It is with some regret and a bit of sadness that i retire today after 45 years of service with PENN CENTRAL, CONRAIL and CSX.... as a conductor. I enjoyed every minute at my job and never felt like i really ever had one ! Now its on to improvements on the layout and no more 2am calls to work or getting to work in a snow storm or rain storm in november or.............yeah some of it i didnt enjoy !!          conrail john

Welcome to the world of retirement. Now you won't believe this but time will fly by faster and you will think how did I get so much done working yet fall behind being retired!!

best part rain snow or? you can stay home and enjoy it all, now go see all the places or friends you want to and no need to hurry home for sleep or a work call.

Congratulations!   You are officially on "Conrail John Time".   I've been retired 4 years and It has been the toughest 4 years of my life.   No days off, no vacation time, no sick leave and I'm on the clock 24/7.   But seriously, God's blessings and good health during your retirement so you can spend all of your money and most of theirs.

Congrats Conrail, now you really do have the time to take the snow shovel to a section of your layout (just kiddin' buddy). The Greenville gang really did miss ya last night at Dave's.Hey ,beings you no longer have a job does that mean we have to bring our own food for Patty to cook when we come to run trains at your house? See ya next Tuesday.  Chet
