Conventional and legacy on the same track?  Is this really possible? I read in the Lionel TRACK & POWER, that Legacy (990) will control both systems . A PowerHouse Power supply 6-22983 ( I have two of these) and a legacy PowerMaster 6-37146 (must purchase) are required.

I have ZERO interest in running both systems on the same track but would like to run 3 Legacy loops and 2 conventional loops with my 990 system.

Would appreciate some advice on the installation.

Thanks

Brent

I think what you are saying is you have 5 loops.

You want 3 command loops and 2 conventional (although they'll be command by virtue of the fact the Legacy base is connected.)

Yes this is possible.  You will need 2 Legacy Powermasters, 1 per conventional loop, to do this.  Each one will get a unique ID to be able to vary the track voltage interdependently.  They will receive their signal from the base via the track / earth ground signal.  The output of the Powerhouses will run through the Powermasters.

Question : Does it matter as to what transformer you are using? I have a ZW-c /w 2 180 watt power bricks. Everything I have read and watched suggested that is all I need, that when I have the 990 powered up and then power up the ZW-c it will operate in Command mode. Allowing me to control my conventional Locomotive with my 990. Is the difference that it is a ZW-c ?
